Proposal re:No Parking in front of the gate from Carpark to Birrahlee Reserve

Council is seeking feedback on a proposal to install ‘No Parking 8:00am-9:30am, 2:30pm-4:30pm’ in front of the gate from the carpark behind Len Wallis into Birrahlee Reserve, to allow pedestrians with prams to access the gate from the car park and then to access the top gate to Birrahlee Pre-School – see Figure 2.

Background

Council has been approached by some pedestrians with a pram and asked to consider how improvements can be made so they can access the gate to Birrahlee Reserve, 70A Burns Bay Road, behind the Birrahlee Pre-School, from the carpark as this is currently not possible when cars are parked in front of the gate.

Discussion

The carpark is a Council carpark.

The proposal is to replace one ‘1/4P 8:00am-9.30am, 2:30pm-4:30pm’ parking space in front of the gate with ‘No Parking 8:00am-9:30am, 2:30pm-4:30pm’.

At all other times the parking space will be an unrestricted parking space.

Birrahlee Pre-School supported the proposal although added that they had not received any complaints about the difficulty using this gate. The pre-school opens at 8:15am and closes at 3:45pm.
