Bus Service Disruptions

Background
Busways took over Lane Cove (region 7) bus operations in 2022, following the NSW State Government’s decision to franchise bus services for Sydney, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, and the Lower North Shore/CBD in 2019.
Council has been concerned that the goal of improving profitability through privatisation may have led to reduced service frequency, closure of unprofitable routes, or removal of certain bus stops, which has significantly impacted the community.
In July 2024, Transport for NSW announced changes to bus routes due to the Metro line extension. For more details, visit the Transport for NSW website.
In response to these issues, Council is continuing to provide the opportunity for local residents to lodge feedback about cancelled and/or significantly delayed bus services in Lane Cove.
Please note that Lane Cove Council is not the operator of these bus services. This information is being gathered to assist in understanding the impacts of issues experienced by our community.
Council will collect and review the survey information and share it with Transport for NSW, the Transport Minister, and other relevant stakeholders to advocate for improvements.
