Overview
Have you experienced bus cancellations and/or significant delays? Now is your chance to have your say.
Background
Busways took over Lane Cove (region 7) bus operations on 9 January 2022, after the NSW State Government published a plan to franchise the buses servicing Sydney, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, and the Lower North Shore/CBD in 2019.
Council is concerned that due privatisation, the goal to improve profitability for the bus operator has led to the frequency reduction or closure of unprofitable routes, or the removal of certain bus stops, which has had a significant impact on the community.
In a notice of motion at the 8 December Ordinary Council Meeting, Clr Flood moved that Council should establish a reporting mechanism on the Council website for local residents to lodge complaints about cancelled and/or significantly delayed bus services in Lane Cove.
Additionally, Council will collate this information and share it with Transport for NSW, the Transport Minister and other relevant stakeholders.
