About the Project
Lane Cove Council is creating a Masterplan for Burns Bay Reserve, and we want you to be a part of it. The Masterplan will establish a long-term vision for Burns Bay Reserve, guiding future improvements while ensuring the reserve continues to meet the evolving needs of the community as a welcoming, accessible, and well-managed public space. Council commenced community consultation in 2023 and is now undertaking Stage 2 of the engagement process.
Stage 2 - Community Consultation
This stage builds on earlier feedback and provides further opportunities for the community to contribute ideas and priorities to inform creation of the Masterplan. The consultation period will run from Tuesday 24 February until 7 April 2026.
How can I get involved?
There are several ways to participate and share your feedback to inform the Burns Bay Reserve Masterplan

Council is considering a range of upgrades to Burns Bay Reserve designed to enhance the reserve while maintaining its natural character and valued activities. Below is an image of a potential base plan with various upgrades and elements being considered.

In addition to the Base Plan, Council is exploring further enhancements and improvement options. Three possible variations are outlined below.

It is recommended that you view the base plan and options before doing the survey.
Council is currently in the second stage of preparing a Masterplan for Burns Bay Reserve to guide its long-term future. The Masterplan will aim to enhance the reserve and respond to community needs through thoughtful upgrades while supporting its existing uses, and natural character. Rest assured, The much loved spaces within the reserve, including the off-leash dog area and sporting fields will remain, with upgrades focused on improving these areas for everyone to enjoy.
Building on feedback received from the community in 2023, Council is exploring potential design options and is seeking further input to help shape upgrades and enhancements. We encourage you to share your thoughts so the masterplan reflects how the community values and uses the reserve now and into the future.
