What is the Youth Advisory Group?
Council's Youth Advisory Group is a group of up to fifteen (15) young people who provide advice and recommendations to Council.
The Youth Advisory Group:
Provides advice and recommendations to Council about the needs, aspirations and concerns of young people in the Local Government Area.
Collaborates with the community to create opportunities for young people and raise awareness of young people in the community.
Helps to plan youth events and programs.
Who is eligible to apply?
There are a few essential criteria for this role. Successful applicants for this Group must:
Live, work or study in the Lane Cove LGA
Be 13 - 24 years of age
(If over 18) be eligible to obtain a Working With Children Check Number.
If you meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply for our Youth Advisory Group (YAG).
The YAG aims to reflect the diversity of the local community with respect to gender, sexuality, age, ethnicity, cultural background, disability and appropriate factors representative of the community profile, to the extent practicable.
Selection will be based on a complementary mix of interests, talents and experience, and an understanding of the local community’s needs and aspirations.
