Wednesday21 of May, 2025 is Wear Orange Wednesday or 'WOW Day'. On this day communities across Australia are encouraged to wear orange and thank all SES volunteers who generously give their time to help communities during flood and storm emergencies. Share your video or photo of thanks during May and use the hashtag #thankyouSES.
To recognise all the work our Willoughby / Lane Cove SES unit members do to keep the community safe, Lane Cove Council is running a children's competition! Download the activity sheet and kids can colour in Paddy the Platypus and submit it via the survey to be in the running to win one of our three prize packs.
The competition sheet can be printed from the downloads section on this page. Entries are open until Sunday 1 June and winners will be notified the following week.
