Overview

Proposal to Relocate ‘No Parking Motor Vehicles Excepted’ sign outside 26 Murray Street, Lane Cove North

Background

Council is seeking your feedback on a proposal to relocate the ‘No Parking Motor Vehicles Excepted’ sign recently installed outside 26 Murray Street, Lane Cove North.

The signs were approved at Council’s Traffic Committee Meeting 21 May 2024 with a recommendation they be monitored for a period of six months.

The signs were successful in removing a large oversize boat trailer parking too close to the bend but forced the caravan previously parked in front of 26 Murray Street, to park further east up Murray Street. The result was that garbage trucks then had difficulty passing the caravan when cars were parked on the other side of the road.

What is being proposed?

To relocate the eastern ‘No Parking Motor Vehicles Excepted’ sign to be in line with the boundary between Nos: 26 and 28 Murray Street..

Benefits of the proposal

  • Allows the owner of the caravan to parking in front of their home without hindering access to the garbage trucks as it is ‘No Parking’ on the other side of the road.
  • Maintains visibility and safety for all road users

Have Your Say

Please provide input into this consultation by Sunday 29 September 2024.

Residents can monitor the progress of the proposal by reviewing the agenda of the Traffic Committee meeting. Meetings are typically held every two months and published on Council’s website.

The agenda contains projects that, following community consultation, are progressed to the Traffic Committee for consideration and Council for a final decision. The Traffic Committee agendas and minutes can be accessed by the link below.
