NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO VARY THE CONTRACT TERM OF A LEASE ON COMMUNITY LAND

GALUWA RECREATION CENTRE (formerly Lane Cove Sport and Recreation Centre)

Pursuant to section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993, Lane Cove Council hereby provides public notice that it intends to vary the contract term of the lease of the Premises and licence to use and manage the Golf Course, to Sydney Sports Management Group Pty Ltd (ABN 52 621 961 377) in respect of the land specified in Schedule 1 (below), for the Term and Purpose specified in Schedule 2 below (below).

SCHEDULE 1 – Description of Land

The Galuwa Recreation Centre (formerly Lane Cove Sport and Recreation Centre) and Golf Course located at 180 River Road, Lane Cove.

Lands on which the Galuwa Recreation Centre and Golf Course are located, include the following folio identifiers:

SCHEDULE 2 - Nature of Proposal

Council proposes to issue the lease and incorporated licence to Sydney Sports Management Group Pty Ltd (ABN 52 621 961 377).

Term: the term of the proposed lease and incorporated licence is seven (7) years (with an additional five (5) year option), commencing 1 January 2026 and expiring on 31 December 2032.

Purpose: To advise of a variation to contract term of the GRC Facility Operation and Management lease. At the 20 November 2025 Ordinary Council meeting it was resolved "that Council …. vary the GRC Facility Operation and Management lease to 7 + 5 years and publicly exhibit for 28 days pursuant to s47 of the Local Government Act 1993"(Resolution 259/25).
