Background
Council is currently developing a new Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) 2024-25 which helps to identify actions to provide convenient access and mobility in and around our community. In addition to identifying strategic outcomes, the PAMP will include a works schedule that can be incorporated into other infrastructure plans for clear direction on how to deliver on the commitment to a more accessible community.
Overview
A Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) is a strategic action plan which allows councils to develop and prioritise improvements to the pedestrian network. The aim of a PAMP is to create a safe, accessible and connected network to cater for the needs of all pedestrian groups in the community including elderly people and people with mobility or visual impairments.
The PAMP provides a framework for Council to develop safe convenient and connected pedestrian routes, allowing targeted investment into infrastructure where it is most needed and to cater for the needs of all pedestrian groups in the community including the elderly and people with mobility or visual impairments.
