Consultation has concluded

We are committed to ensuring our community is informed and we strongly encourage community participation in decision making.

To facilitate this, we convene and support a variety of Advisory and Consultative Committees which aim to help improve our community.

These Committees consider and advise on a wide range of local issues by providing a discussion forum for Council representatives, local stakeholders and community members.

We are calling for members of the Lane Cove community to become involved as Community Representatives for three of our Advisory Committees/Work Parties.

1. Theatre Space Planning Reference Group Nominations (this is a new committee)

Council is investigating converting the Council Chambers into a performance space targeting theatrical-style productions as part of the 2023/24 Operational and Delivery Plan.

Consequently, we are seeking submissions from interested community members to be part of a reference group to assist in the planning for the project.

2. Public Art Advisory Committee

Council has had a Public Art Committee since 2011. The aim of the Committee is to provide advice, critique, and comment on the ongoing development, guidance, and implementation of the Lane Cove Council Public Art Policy in relation to each Council or developer-based project including public art commissions.

3. Age-Friendly Advisory Committee

Lane Cove Council recognises the importance of responding to the challenges of an ageing population, and the fostering of an environment that promotes active ageing and community engagement.

The Committee aims to reflect the diversity of the local community with respect to gender, sexuality, age, ethnicity, cultural background, disability and appropriate factors representative of the community profile, to the extent practicable.

Nominations close midnight Sunday 06 August 2023.
