Council is seeking your views on a proposed speed hump on Mindarie Street approximately 20 metres from Mowbray Road.
The proposal is a part of the Lane Cove North Speed Reduction proposal.
As you are aware, Council in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has identified and funded a Speed Reduction proposal for the Lane Cove North area. Initial consultation for the project was undertaken in February 2024.
The approved design included a raised pedestrian crossing on Mindarie Street at Mowbray Road. However, due to funding constraints, Council will not be able to deliver the raised pedestrian crossing on Mindarie Street this year. Council will pursue other funding opportunities, and this device will be delivered at a later stage.
To ensure that the 40km/h speed limit reduction along Mindarie Street occurs this financial year, TfNSW have directed Council to install a speed hump approximately 20 metres from Mowbray Road along with signage and line marking treatments.
There are no proposed changes to current on street parking arrangements.
It is important to note that if this speed hump is not implemented, TfNSW will not allow a speed limit reduction in your street and the speed limit will remain at 50km/h.
