Liveable Lane Cove 2035 - Draft revised Community Strategic Plan

Throughout early 2025 Council worked with the community to review its Community Strategic Plan and develop a new Draft Plan, Liveable Lane Cove: 2035. This plan will help guide us towards 2035 and help maintain a long term focus in planning for the future of Lane Cove.

The preliminary engagement process focused on surveys and interactive workshops with community members, Councillors and Council staff.

During these discussions we heard many thoughts and ideas about the future of Lane Cove, about what's important to you and about what our priorities should be over the next ten years.

You have told us what you love about living in Lane Cove, including the:

• Green areas and open spaces
• Access to good services, facilities, shops and restaurants
• Central and convenient location
• Good sense of community

You have told us about the issues most important to you and to the future of Lane Cove, such as:

• More and improved public transport
• Managing overdevelopment’
• Traffic control / congestion
• Affordability / availability of Housing
• Additional / improved community services and facilities
• Availability of parking
• Maintaining green open spaces / bushland
• Managing population growth

Your feedback has enabled us to develop the Draft Plan in which we have refined, reassessed as well as strengthened areas of priority. Council has also developed a four-year Delivery Program and Operational Plan which outlines the specific actions required to achieve the long term objectives of the Liveable Lane Cove 2035 Community Strategic Plan and a budget that supports these actions.

Council, in its second stage of community consultation would like to know:

• Does the revised Community Strategic Plan reflect the future you imagine for Lane Cove?
• Can we improve the revised Community Strategic Plan and if so, where and how?
• Is there anything missing in the revised Community Strategic Plan?
