Leemon Reserve Upgrade – Construction Update

Following community consultation in September 2024, Council has finalised the Leemon Reserve Playground concept plans and they are now available for you information below.

The design refreshes the play space, utilises the existing infrastructure and includes trees for shade.

Council is excited to share that the upgrades will begin in the week beginning Monday 7 April and will take approximately 8 weeks.

Background

On a site formally owned by the 'Council of Education,' from 1880 Leemon Reserve originally formed part of Greenwich Public School until 1909 when the school was relocated. The reserve is now named after John Leemon, who was the 3rd and longest serving head teacher at Greenwich Public School.

Currently home to Greenwich Tennis club, Leemon Reserve also features a play space, basketball court, sheltered picnic tables and BBQ set with a stunning backdrop to the Lane Cove River.
