The Inclusive Communities Grant - Extended Program (Round 2) invites applications from eligible businesses (including hospitality) and not-for-profit organisations to host public-facing events and activities in celebration of Pride Month. Pride Month is celebrated annually from 1 to 30 June. It marks an important moment in the LGBTQIA+ rights movement, the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. Pride Month is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ culture and community, and an opportunity to promote connection, inclusion, and belonging.

The aim of the Inclusive Community Grant – Extended Program is to support local businesses and not-for-profit organisations to host a public-facing event in celebration of Pride Month in 2026.

The Program seeks to:

  • celebrate LGBTQIA+ identities, culture and diversity
  • meaningfully include LGBTQIA+ people
  • create safe, inclusive spaces for connection and shared experiences
  • be accessible (eg cost, location, disability access, language, age, cultural safety)
  • promote acceptance, equality and respect
  • encourage positive attitude change

The Inclusive Community Grant – Extended Program aligns with Council’s Social Inclusion Strategy to create a thriving community, where everyone belongs.

Funding supports projects that primarily benefit residents and visitors of the Lane Cove Local Government Area (LGA). Applicants are expected to provide a financial co-contribution, reflecting a shared investment in the project.

The total funding pool for this funding program is $5,000. Individual grant amounts will be determined by Council based on the quality of applications received. Council will co-fund up to 50% of eligible program costs. Grant funding will be paid by way of reimbursement on completion of the event and on presentation of a valid receipt showing payment of agreed program costs.

Before completing an application, please read the program guidelines.
