Proposed Pedestrian Stair Connection
As you may be aware, Council has been planning for the construction of stair access through the existing road reserve located between 12 and 14 Fleming Street.
The steep terrain limits the design options for this stairway.
In addition, Council is proposing to construct a new footpath along the southern side of Fleming Street (between Northwood Road and Endeavour Playground).
Staff are keen to review and understand resident feedback on this proposal prior to it being scheduled for construction in 2026.
These improvements aim to enhance pedestrian safety, accessibility, and overall connectivity within the Northwood area. The proposed works seek to provide a convenient walking link between Fleming Street, the surrounding residential streets and the new Galuwa Recreation Centre on River Road.
