Council is seeking your feedback on our Draft Gambling Harm Minimisation Policy, endorsed for public exhibition at the Council meeting on 20 March 2025.

Why This Policy Matters

While gambling may be a form of entertainment for some, it can also lead to serious personal, social, and financial harms for others. Councils have an important role to play in preventing and minimising gambling harm within their communities.

This draft policy outlines the actions and commitments Lane Cove Council will undertake to help reduce gambling-related harm. These include measures to:

  • Guide decision-making about land use, facilities, and partnerships
  • Inform Council’s community programs, events, and sponsorships
  • Raise awareness about gambling risks and support services
  • Strengthen advocacy and collaboration with relevant stakeholders

The policy aims to support a healthy, inclusive, and safe community by promoting environments that reduce exposure to gambling harm, particularly for vulnerable individuals and communities.

We Want to Hear From You

Your input will help shape the final policy and ensure it reflects the needs and values of our community. We welcome feedback from individuals, local organisations, businesses, and service providers.

You can make a written submission to:
