Council previously exhibited a draft Fire Safety Policy. The policy is intended to:

  • Outline Council's responsibilities and approach to fire safety compliance within the Local Government Area.
  • Give guidance to building owners and the community regarding fire safety obligations.
  • Formalises Council's regulatory roles in relation to annual fire safety statements, compliance investigations and enforcement activities.

The draft policy was publicly exhibited from Tuesday 9 June to Tuesday 21 July 2026 (closing at 5pm).

This policy and a response to the submissions will now be reported up to a future meeting of Council.
