We invite the community to provide feedback on the Draft Code of Conduct

In accordance with section 440 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), Council is required to review its adopted Code of Conduct within 12 months following each ordinary election and make any adjustments it considers appropriate, provided they are consistent with the Model Code of Conduct.

Council must adopt a Code of Conduct that incorporates the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct issued by the Office of Local Government (OLG).

As the Code of Conduct is unchanged from the Code of Conduct adopted on 8 December 2022 and with the Office of Local Government (OLG) preparing to release a new Councillor Conduct Framework, Council has resolved to undertake community consultation for a period of two (2) weeks. There will be another review of the Code and a further round of community consultation once the OLG releases its new Councillor Conduct Framework.

The Draft Code of Conduct associated documents are available to view under documents.
