Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2027 - 2030
Under the NSW Disability Inclusion Act 2014 (DIA), councils are required to review their Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) every 4 years.
Lane Cove Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) is currently being renewed, and Council is preparing its 2027-2030 Disability Inclusion Action Plan. This will be Council's third action plan and will build on the work Council has already been doing to create a more inclusive, accessible and liveable Lane Cove for people with disability.
The focus of the new Plan remains with the four key focus areas from previous plans. The four focus areas are:
• Positive community attitudes and behaviours
• Creating liveable communities
• Supporting access to meaningful employment
• Improving access to services through better systems and processes.
Have your say
We invite you to tell us how well you think Council encourages our community and supports staff with disability, chronic health conditions or caring roles.
To assist in this process, we have developed a survey.
Your answers will help Council plan for good community connections, accessible places and services and improved participation of people with disability in community life.
You are invited to complete this survey if you:
- have a disability and/or experience a mental health condition
- are older and experience age-related conditions
- have a chronic health condition
- have someone in your family with disability
- have a friend with disability
- provide support for someone with disability
- have an interest in improving access for people with disability
- live, work or visit the Lane Cove local government area (LGA).
The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete.

This survey is open from Monday 21 September 2026 to Wednesday 21 October 2026.
