Liveable Lane Cove 2035 - the People's Plan

The first round of consultation has ended. Council will now draft an updated Liveable Lane Cove 2035 and will submit it to Council for public exhibition at the April Council Meeting. The community will have another opportunity to provide feedback during the 28-day public consultation period.

Each Council term, we take a look at our 10-year community plan to make sure it stays current and relevant to our community’s needs and aspirations. In February, we will begin a review of Liveable Lane Cove 2035, and we need your input.

In 2018, after a comprehensive community engagement process to develop the strategy, Council adopted Liveable Lane Cove 2035. In 2022, the community reviewed and reaffirmed the strategy. It is now time to review this long-term plan once again.

Liveable Lane Cove 2035 has maintained the six strategic planning themes that Council has used in its planning since 2005. As these planning themes are recognised and understood by the community, they have been retained to describe the goals, objectives, and strategies the Lane Cove community is working towards to fulfil its vision for a Liveable Lane Cove 2035.

Over the next 6 weeks in February and March 2025, Council will be looking to engage with the Lane Cove community using a range of consultation methods, including:

• A Phone Survey – commencing 10 February - 7 March (now closed)
• An On-line Survey (replicating the Phone Survey) - 17 February - 7 March (now closed)
• Interactive Community Workshops:
  1. Wednesday 19 March 2025 - 3:00PM to 5:00PM register here
  2. Wednesday 19 March 2025 – 6:00PM to 8:00PM register here
• Exhibition Stalls:
  • Tuesday 25 February at Lane Cove Library 10:30AM - 11:30AM
  • Wednesday 26 February at The Canopy Wiggles Dance Class 10:00AM - 11:00AM
  • Saturday 1 March at The Canopy Petting Zoo from 9:00AM - 11:00AM
  • Thursday 6 March at The Lane Cove Plaza 2:00PM - 4:00PM

This is an opportunity to hear the thoughts and ideas about our community, to understand what’s important to you and the priorities that you feel we should pursue during the life of Liveable Lane Cove 2035.

This consultation will close on Wednesday 26 March 2025 and a draft will be brought to the April 2025 Council Meeting.
