Lane Cove Council is developing a new Cultural Plan to guide arts, culture and creativity across our villages over the next ten years. The Plan will replace Create Lane Cove (2016) and set out how Council will support artists, cultural organisations, events and creative spaces as Lane Cove grows and changes, including in St Leonards.
We want to hear from everyone who lives, works, studies or creates in Lane Cove, whether or not you think of yourself as someone who "does" arts and culture. Your views will shape the Plan's vision, priorities and actions.
The Plan is being prepared by Council with independent consultants Dr Sophie Lieberman and Aleema Ash. A draft will be placed on public exhibition in early 2027 before Council considers it for adoption.
Two questions we are asking everyone
What does arts and culture in Lane Cove mean to you?
How would you like Lane Cove to be known for arts and culture in the future?

Lane Cove Council is developing a new Cultural Plan to guide arts, culture, heritage and creativity in Lane Cove for the next ten years. We want to hear from everyone who lives, works, studies or spends time here, whether or not you think of yourself as "into culture".
By culture we mean anything that adds to your quality of life, sense of place and feeling of community. That includes festivals and events, the library and Gallery, music, theatre and film, public art, heritage, making things, and celebrating your own traditions.
The survey takes about 10 minutes. Your answers are anonymous, and every question is optional. It closes on Sunday 6 December 2026.
Paper copies are available at Lane Cove libraries and Council's Customer Service Centre. For help in your language, call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450 and ask them to contact Lane Cove Council. For other formats, contact cultural@lanecove.nsw.gov.au.
