Community Engagement Strategy Review - Ideas Round
Review of Council’s Community Engagement Strategy
Council is currently reviewing its Community Engagement Strategy (2022) to ensure it continues to meet the current and emerging needs of our community.
The Community Engagement Strategy guides how Council undertakes two-way communication with the community when making decisions. It outlines how we share information, listen to feedback, and work with residents, businesses and community groups to shape Council policies, projects and services.
As part of this review, we want to hear from you.
In our ideas round, we are inviting the community to share ideas and feedback on the current strategy and tell us how Council can improve the way we engage and work in partnership with the community.
Your feedback will help Council strengthen how we listen, communicate and collaborate with our community in the future.
Council has engaged independent community engagement experts to assist undertaking the review. There are several ways you can become involved in the review.
1. Community Workshop Session:
Council will be conducting two Community Workshops on Wednesday 25 March in the Cove Room within the Lane Cove Council building.
- Session 1 will be between 3.00pm and 5.00pm.
- Session 2 will be between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
Please register your interest in attending one of these two sessions by completing the details in the link below:
2. Online Survey
If you are unable to attend one of the two community workshop sessions listed above, you can provide your feedback via the online survey at the bottom of this page.
3. Write to Council
You can also prepare a submission to Council. Please address your submission to the General Manager, include the words ‘Community Engagement Strategy Review - Ideas Round’ in your title, and include ‘SU80’ as a reference.
The first round of consultation will end on 8 April for the purposes of gathering all feedback and developing a revised version of the current strategy for Council’s initial consideration.
Importantly, you will have another opportunity to provide feedback on the revised strategy before council is asked to formally endorse the revised strategy.
This initial consultation commences on 11 March and will conclude on 8 April 2026. A second round of consultation will be held once a draft strategy has been prepared.
